Happy 48th Anniversary to My Dad and Mom

It’s hard to believe that’s it’s been almost a year since we took our cruise to Alaska. I’m ready for another one, but with our impending move to Texas a vacation is going to be put on hold for a while.

It was so wonderful that my parents could join us and we were able to celebrate their 47th anniversary with them during that week. I wasn’t quite sure what to do for them, I mean what do you get someone who has a household of things collected over 47 years?!

We ended up getting them Wine Gift Baskets, so they could enjoy a glass of bubbly with their meals and on their veranda looking out over the fjords and ice. They were so surprised to receive it, and appreciated the thought a lot. Rather than just celebrating for one evening we were able to extend it over the whole week!

On August 29th, they’ll be celebrating wedding anniversary number 48. What a milestone! No cruises this year, but they’re going with some friends to Israel this winter. They love to travel (I guess that’s where I got my travel bug from!), and I’m glad they’re healthy enough to still do it.

So it’s a little early but I want to wish a Happy 48th Anniversary to my Dad and Mom – I love you both, and thank you for all you did for me growing up and all the support you’ve given my family over the years. May you still be blessed with many more married years together.
