Fun Hand Sanitizer Bottles for the Holidays

This post has been sponsored by Pfizer Consumer Healthcare. All thoughts and reviews are my own.

While we know that frequent and complete hand washing is one of the best ways to combat those seasonal germs, it’s HARD to get the kids to do it.  So when Amber was little we relied a lot more on hand sanitizer than we did on soap.  One of the ways we were able to encourage her to use it, was by letting her ‘make it her own.’

Hand sanitizer bottles are easy to decorate.  I would purchase clear ones, take the labels off and then we’d have fun.

Your kids will love to use these fun hand sanitizer bottles.  All you need is some stickers and/or small objects to place inside the gel.

fun hand sanitizer bottles

Find some fun holiday/seasonal stickers and let your kids put them on the bottle.  I found these snowmen ones, and boy do the bottles look cute!

You can even make fun hand sanitizer for the grown-ups in your home, because goodness knows we need to be keeping those germs at bay too!

Another way to jazz up those fun hand sanitizer bottles is by putting a number of small items into the bottles. I put a couple of drops of red natural coloring in this bottle (that was plenty to get the gel a pink hue, without actually coloring it when dispensed – start off with a drop and test it before you add too much), and put some small felt candy canes in it.

Because the gel has a thicker suspension, it’s easy to just push the items into the opening and then use the pump to place it in the bottle where you want it.

Over the years we found that when we let Amber make her own fun hand sanitizer bottles, she willingly (and often!) would sanitize her hands without fuss.

Alas, no matter how hard you try to prevent it, your children may still get sick and Murphy’s Law will see that it happens around the holidays.   Unfortunately, we had many Thanksgivings and Christmas gatherings over the years that we couldn’t go to, because of out of control germs even though we tried hard to keep those ickies out of our home.

  5. It’s a joke amongst my kids about how I’m always pulling out the hand sanitizer and asking if they washed their hands with soap and water. I can’t stand to see my babies sick and do everything I can to stop the spread of germs.

  6. We make sure to wash hands, use hand sanitizer and Clorox disinfecting wipes/.

  23. I have 16 nieces and nephews. The oldest is 11 and the youngest 1 month. We see each other often and someone is always getting or getting over something. 29. We are really big on hand washing. One good tip to staying germ free while shopping during the holidays is to clean off the handle on carts. I have noticed that some people don’t wash their hands in the restroon and then go push their cart around. By sanitizing the handle might prevent germs and your family getting sick.

  30. When I was little, I was sick 4 Christmas in a row. I’ll never forget how miserable I was those years. Two of them I ended up in the hospital from dehydration. Now that I’m a Mom myself, I never want my babies to go through that! I make sure my kids keep up with their vitamins and hand washing, and they know the rules about not sharing at school to keep themselves from getting sick. Unfortunately, it can’t always be stopped, but so far, my kids have been healthy every Christmas so far!!
