Clutch | An All-in-One Shopping App

I know some people (like my husband) don’t really like to shop, but for me part of the fun of shopping is getting the best deal I can.

But, I like to have a game plan before I take the challenge on!

So before I head out for a day of giving my credit card a work out; I look through circulars.  I research online.  I make a list.  I clip coupons.  I plan my driving out.  Yet somehow I still end up missing something.  Every single time.

It’s makes me so frustrated when I do all that planning and then I come home and start unloading the haul and find out I forgot to get whatever it is I NEEDED THE MOST!

So why I haven’t in the past looked for an app to consolidate all of that before, I don’t know.  I have my phone with me all the time, it only makes sense to glance at an app to find my store loyalty cards, see if a store down the block has a better price or let me keep track of all those gift cards I have and let me find something to buy with them.

And that’s what Clutch lets me do.

It’s kind of like a bunch of apps in one.  It functions as a loyalty app in two ways.  It allows me to load up my reward cards, so when I’m out and about and I forgot them in my other jacket’s pocket, I can show my card number to the cashier and still get my reward card price or purchase credited to a loyalty balance. That my friends is invaluable to me, because it never fails that when I want to make a quick stop somewhere for something because of the price I seem to not be able to find my store card…sigh.  But now I don’t have to worry about that!  It even lets you scan the code for store coupons so you don’t forget you have them tucked away to use.

Clutch also has its own loyalty perks within the app.  For actions you take using it, you can build up reward points and then redeem them for gift cards.  Just by verifying your e-mail address and adding cards to your mobile wallet you can start racking them up.

And this is another reason I’m all over this app.  It alerts you to local deals and coupons in your area.  Since I’m frugal by nature, if I can save money, I’m checking it out!

You can also use the Clutch mobile app to find the best price of an item simply by scanning the product’s upc code, and using it is easy.  The app also includes online prices so you can compare on whether it pays to hop in your car and drive to the store or if it’s cheaper to just wait a few days for the delivery guy to bring it to your doorstep.

(And if I can stay home and shop, I will!)

The Clutch app is kinda cool and since I keep forgetting to bring along my loyalty cards that’s the feature that I am most excited about.  But one other thing you can do with it is purchase gift cards to send to people.

I think I need to download Clutch to my husband’s phone, so in the event that he forgets our Anniversary in Spring he has a quick way out!  Bazinga!

If at this point you thought there couldn’t be any more shopping goodness to this app, I have one more thing to share with you!  You can make visual collections of items in the app and you and your friends can follow each other if you are all using it.  Not only can you get ideas from your fashionable and in the know friends and family, but when you follow their collections it’s a great way to get gift ideas for them as well!

If you want to learn more about Clutch and see local deals in your area and find out how you can earn reward points, you can download Clutch for free on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.

  1. I don't use a lot of apps but I think this one sounds like a winner. Do you know if it is only for US users only or if it would work for Canadians? If not a Canadian version needs to be made.

  2. I've used this app before, I love the feature that lets you compare the prices of a product without having to leave the house.
