Back to School Shopping at Sears

I don’t know how many of my readers know that I am actually a new-er American. My family and I became citizens in 2010 after having immigrated to the United States in 1999. We didn’t come far, just over the northern border from Canada, but even after almost 13 years of living here, I still notice the cultural differences between the two countries.

That being said I’m going to share some deals with my Canadian readers in this post. Something I don’t do a lot, but because my sister just recently posted some ‘back to school’ talk on Facebook, it reminded me that I had gotten an e-mail from CouponSnapshot.ca with a list of some of the stores that they have online coupon codes for.

Among the deals were some Sears promo codes. I’m not a big Sears shopper myself, but my Mom loves shopping there, and when I headed to their Canadian website, I noticed they’re right in thick of back to school. They have up to 25% off selected items from their best brands of athletic fashions and footwear.

They also have a pretty nifty ‘Sears Superstar Wardrobe Contest’ where you can enter for a chance to win a five thousand dollar Sears Shopping Spree and a vacation for four to The Next Star grand finale. (When I asked my family about that because I had no idea what The Next Star was, I was appropriately put in place by my teenage niece that it’s a show on YTV up in Canada!)

It was kind of neat to see that you can meet the finalists of the show at their local Sears stores, and two of the contestants are from the place where we lived before we moved to the U.S.!

For the older kids and adults that are going back to school, you can shop at Sears for items that will help your studying like tablets, notebook computers and flash drives.

It’s kind of neat that even if you don’t live in one of the bigger cities there’s always been a way to shop at Sears. Years ago it was through the catalog (I remember SO looking forward to the Christmas Wish Book when I was little!), and I’m sure there are many who still shop that way, but now with technology people can purchase online through their website as well. With the rising cost of gas prices, why not shop from the comfort of your home, take advantage of the online sales, combine them with a coupon code and have way less stress than packing all the kids up to go to the mall?!

Where do you like to shop for back to school deals?

  1. I'm a Walmart kind of person. I remember getting my school clothes from Sears when I was a kid. It was the only good part about summer ending!
