Sweet & Sassy Gifts for the Tweens & Teens

Here are a couple of gift ideas that are sure to please the tweens and teens that you need to buy for this year.

Yum Drives are a perfect stocking stuffer, or an easy and light mailable gift.

These Jazwares products come in all the "flavors" the kids (okay grown ups too!) like best.  Hershey's Milk Chocolate,

Krackel, Mr. Goodbar, Twizzlers and Bubble Yum.

Available in 1 GB and 2 GB models, there is plenty of room for the kids to store their homework photos, music and other digital files on.

I think the Bubble Yum branded one would make an extraordinary "sweet" gift for those wearing braces, who are otherwise banned from chewing gum!

I received the Hersheys one to review.  I opened it up and placed it in front of Hubby's PC.  He is a chocoholic and tends to inhale any type of chocolate within his reach.  It was quite funny to watch him think it was an actual Hersheys Miniature and thanked me for getting him a chocolate for a snack .

Depending on the storage size Jazwares Yum Drives retail between $14.99 to $29.99.

The sassy part of this review comes to you via Hasbro's I-Dog Amp'd

This guy is "awesome sauce" or whatever those youngsters are saying these days (I'm sure my phrase is so last week).

Plug him into the MP3 player and watch him go.  A written description really won't do, so here's a video of Amber showing off her new "pet".

I-Dog Amp'd is available at retailers nationwide and has an arv of about $34.99.

I received both the Jazware Hershey's Chocolate Yum Drive and the I-Dog Amp'd at no cost to myself prior to writing this post.

Los Lobos Goes Disney Giveaway

One of the things I like about Disney movies are the soundtracks.

Some pretty cool songs have emerged as classics and it's fun to listen to them in their original versions as well as remixed.

Rock icons Los Lobos have taken 13 Disney tunes from movies and even a couple of park attractions, and added their distinct Latin flair to them.

Los Lobos Goes Disney sounds awesome.  It is extremely catchy with their Latin twist.

I am totally convinced that Lumieres or Palo on the Disney Magic need to be playing Los Lobos' version of Bella Notte during dinners!

The beat of this album, might get you up and dancing with your kids, which is a perk if you're like me and sometimes find it tough to get up and moving .

I have a giveaway for a Los Lobos Goes Disney for one of my readers.

Harry Connick Jr. - Your Songs CD - Giveaway & Review

I was first "introduced" to Harry as a pre-teen by my older brother. He is big into the jazz scene and if I wanted a ride to the mall, I got to listen to Harry on the way!

Harry Connick Jr's newest CD is entitled Your Songs (released on 9/22/09). These are Harry's rendition of classics. You know from the likes of Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett and Nat King Cole.

The tracks All The Way, The Way You Look Tonight and Some Enchanted Evening, made me reminisce about sitting in the back seat of my brother's Acadia bopping to the sounds of the beat and the horns. Of note is the incredible saxophone playing by Branford Marsallis in All The Way.

The rest of the album...

well let's just say it didn't live up to my memories of what Harry was all about. I liken it to music my parents might play at a dinner party. The other 11 tracks are more for kicking your feet up in front of the fire with a glass of wine (or in my case a mug of coffee since I don't drink) and letting the music lull you to sleep. Very unlike the usual jazz tempo Harry is known to deliver.

But why don't you decide for yourself? If you head over to Amazon.com you can listen to some samples from his new album, or if you have time. on Monday morning September 28th, Harry Connick Jr. will appear on the Today Show. You might want to watch that.

The One2One Network who supplied me with my review copy of Your Songs would like to give one of my readers the chance to snag a copy of their very own.

To enter: Leave a comment letting me know which one of the songs on the cd you think will be your favorite?

For extra entries (the above must be completed first) you can leave an additional comment for each you are eligible for:

All Join In: It's Like Putting On An Old Sweater ~ Kenny Loggins

Kenny Loggins is releasing a new cd on July 21st entitled All Join In. Disney Pearl Series has done it again, and I think this will be as charming as the Pooh Corner albums.

In an interview with Kenny he says the album is called All Join In because it really is for the whole family. And family is what Kenny is all about, his daughter sings along with him on this recording and the bond is strong!

Wait...do you recognize that song... okay well I'm not old enough apparently, but it's a rendition of the Donovans 1960 classic of the same name. There are a number of oldies on this album including a couple of tunes from The Beatles.

Check out the short intro trailer as well.
