Losing a Few Pounds

After two weeks of eating cruise food pretty much non-stop, proper nutrition and exercise are really on my mind.  I know there are many who take pills or supplements for losing a few pounds, but I like to just watch what I eat and exercise.  I gained 6 pounds on our cruise that I need to work off!  Because of eating things like...ice cream, ice cream and more ice cream!  (Drat that Goofy's Galley on Deck 9 that has unlimited ice cream...)

What I need to buy though is some good running shoes to help me get in shape.  I have usually purchased name brand athletic shoes in the past but have never bought New Balance ones before.  There are some TriCity New Balance Coupon Codes on the internet that I could use to help defray the costs of them.  Do any of my readers wear New Balance athletic shoes, and if so do you like them?

Tropicana Orange Juice Juicy Rewards Update

So last week I had mentioned my induction into the Tropicana Juicy Rewards Brand Ambassador program, and I thought I'd let you know that I have actually done something with the program! One of the disadvantages of living in a less populated location is that there are fewer opportunities to be had.  When perusing the Juicy Rewards, I didn't find anything local to use my points for, but that's what's so great about the internet, if you have a shipping address, well you can pretty much get anything!

Tropicana Juicy Rewards

We love orange juice, and Hubby is very concerned about his health so he only drinks Tropicana Healthy Heart Orange Juice.  Me, I'm not a milk drinker so to get my calcium in, I drink Tropicana's Pure Premium Calcium + Vitamin D, and we buy the Healthy Kids variety for Amber.

Mom Central, has paired up with Tropicana and has some bloggers being Brand Ambassadors for Tropicana and their newly launched Tropicana Juicy Rewards and you guessed since I'm blogging about it, I was chosen to be a one of the Juicy Insider Ambassador.

A SmartMouth Has Fresh Breath

Some foods just leave you with a bad smell on your breath.  In my case it happens to be coffee.  My addiction propensity toward having a few cups in the morning before I go out, leaves others wishing I wouldn't touch the stuff.  Especially when I talk.

In the past I haven't used mouthwash all the time.  But when I'm looking to make a good impression, I do use it.

Enjoy Life Eat Freely: Crunchy Rice and Crunchy Flax

I received two boxes of cereal from Enjoy Life the other day.  Perky's Crunchy Rice and Perky's Crunchy Flax.

There are so many options in the store and it's kind of nice to know what one brand offers over another without having to stand in the aisles for hours reading the sides and backs of boxes.

Soft Scrub Total Giveaway

My bathrooms were pleased to have Soft Scrub Total Bath & Bowl used in them yesterday.

So was I.

It arrived in my home the other day.  I was selected as one of 200 to be a Soft Scrub Club Captain, and along with that choice title, I also got a free bottle of the brand new Total Bath & Bowl.  (Hey if I tell them I’m a “captain” when I board the cruise ship in spring do ya think they’ll let me blow the horn?....)

Earth’s Best is celebrating a special milestone in 2010—it’s 25th birthday! Founded in 1985, Earth’s Best was started with a simple “wish” - to keep potentially harmful pesticides out of the earth and children’s food supply. For 25 years, Earth’s Best has realized that “wish” and has provided millions of babies with pure, simple, organic foods to grow up on. The line has even expanded to also include organic infant formula, TenderCare® Chlorine-Free Diapers and Wipes, baby body care and home cleaning products made with organic ingredients, making it the gold standard for parents who seek products that are better for their babies and for the environment.

RoC Retinol Correxion Giveaway

Thanks to Bzz Agent, I was able to participate in the RoC Retinol Correxion campaign.   Bzz Agent is a program that allows consumers to test products and services.  The concept is WOM (Word of Mouth), a marketing effect that companies have come to rely on.  Sort of like that old commercial, if you tell two friends, and they tell two friends, and they tell two friends, well you get the idea.

So this time I was sent three tubes of RoC Retinol Correxion Deep Wrinkle Night Cream; one to try, and two to share ☺.

Fiber Gummies ♦ Review and Giveaway

Fiber has important health benefits for children:

  •     It promotes regularity and prevents constipation
  •     It helps reduce risk of cancer and heart disease later in life
But how much fiber do kids need? The recommended daily fiber intakes are:

Kids 1 to 3 years: 19 grams
Kids 4 to 8 years: 25 grams
Boys 9 to 13 years: 31 grams
Girls 9 to 13 years: 26 grams
If your kids are picky eaters, it may mean that you have to supplement their fiber intake.   Some kids go through spurts where they are fixated on only one type of food, so while you continue to try and get them to eat healthier foods you're at a loss on how to get the recommended  amount of nutrition values into them.

When it’s time to look for a supplement, the well known name of Pedia-Lax is there to help.

Design Time with Fashion Playtes

Amber is very picky when it comes to clothing.  It must be this color, or that design.  It can't have ribbons, or bows.  And definitely NO PINK.  Through Twitter Moms, I found a fabulous site for her, where she can design her own clothes, and can get just what she wants, it's called Fashion Playtes.

We sat on the website and designed a hoodie.  It was so much fun and easy too.  The colors are fantastic (even for a picky kid!) and the appliques are cute.

FashionPlaytes.com offers gift certificates and would make a great gift for a young girl on your list this Christmas. That way the tween you need to buy for will get exactly what they want, no gift receipts needed! They will receive their customized product in less than 3 weeks too.  There are plenty of items to choose from besides tops and bottoms, including belts, headbands and bags.

Here is a special discount for $15 off your first gift certificate or custom outfit purchase of $25 or more– use TWITTERMOM15 at checkout.

Green Works Laundry

I just love sharing the products that come my way via the Mom Central blog tours. This time it's two of the newest offerings from Green Works. And yes it's something everyone can use, laundry products.

I admit to not having "tough" laundry loads. Meaning that except for food stains (I do have sloppy eaters in my home), I don't have a lot of outdoors or grease type stains to deal with when I do laundry. Maybe that's why laundry is my favorite household chore! It's always a good thing when I can find a detergent and stain removal products that don't just work and smell good, but are also friendly on the environment.

Holey Donuts! Review, Coupon Code & Contest

Do you ever get a craving for a really good donut? I grew up chowing down on yeast donuts on a regular basis. When we moved to the city we're living in, all I could find were cake donuts. That didn't leave me overly pleased. Finally, finally a donut shop opened in town, but it didn't last long (what is wrong with all the people in the city I live in!?!) and closed up. Which left me with that elusive hunt for a good yeast donut
