RoC Retinol Correxion Giveaway

OFF! clip-on - Save Your Summer!

Nothing ruins a beautiful summer evening more than, you guessed it, mosquitoes. Well any kind of bugs really. We spent the 4th of July with friends of our who live on some acreage and it was quite funny to see their daughter walking around with a can of OFF spraying all the lawn chairs! Truth be told, I don't like insect repellent on my potato chips, so I kindly waved her aside when she neared me with her can, but I also don't like bugs crawling around my food. What a dilemma. So that's when I dug out my OFF Clip-On that I received courtesy of BzzAgent and SC Johnson. An alternative to those who don't want to spray themselves with insect repellent.

The base unit comes as a fan encased in plastic, a repellent pad and two AA batteries. The most difficult part of putting it together was taking it out of it's outer packaging, lol! Really it's easy; the plastic casement opens up, you place the repellent pad in its appropriate spot and close it. To activate the unit there is an on/off switch. It's that simple.

I love the on/off switch. When I was in the house I could switch it off and not waste any of the product. And it has a visible indicator that allows you to know when you are running out of repellent and need to replace the pad. The repellent pad is supposed to last about 12 hours or be replaced after 2 weeks of being in the unit if you've used it less than 12 hours. I can't say how long it lasts personally as we've only had it in the unit for 3 days and we didn't use it for 12 hours.

The fan easily clips on to anything you might want it to. Clothing, chairs, backpacks etc. I put it on the back of my chair so I wouldn't have it blowing right on my food, but so it would still keep the bugs away. Since it isn't applied directly to the skin, it's a nice alternative for children to clip to their clothes when they're playing outdoors.

It doesn't smell like most bug sprays either. I really liked that.

The fan is pretty quiet, and after you have it on for awhile you hardly notice it. The fan takes air in and distributes the repellent that is on the pad out, in effect "shielding" you in repellent without actually putting it on your skin. If you can picture that effect, you see that it is more effective if you are in one place, than if you are moving around. Although it still works even if you are moving around, just not as well.

I don't know if this is something I would use all of the time for bug protection. Likely when my daughter goes to camp next week I will send a traditional repellent with her, as she is sure to be moving around a lot and probably needs more protection than what the OFF Clip-On Fan can offer. But for lazy summer evenings, sitting out and enjoying the sunset, this works dandy and will make those times memorable for reasons other than the bugs!

Windex Outdoor All-In-One Review

I am only 4'9" tall. Yes, my 13 year old daughter now stands taller than I. You can imagine the trouble it is for me to reach anything a foot over my head (which doesn't even bring me to reaching up to six feet!). That is why Windex Outdoor All-In-One is wonderful for me to wash my windows. I used this for the first time this year and it is fantastic.

This is how you use it. Spray your window and the cleaning pad with water. Wipe the window with the cleaning pad. Rinse the window with your hose. Voila! You're done.

Root Awakening: A New Product Line by John Frieda

I was able to try the new Root Awakening line thanks to John Frieda and BzzAgent. This is great stuff!

I received the Nourishing Shampoo and Conditioner as well as the Health Boosting Detangling Spray to try.

Since I dye my hair quite regularly (really, you thought this was my natural color? Why, thank you!), the thing I appreciated most about this product is that it is safe to use on colored hair. Super Product...Perfect Hair

I had never heard of this particular line of göt2b's product prior to this BzzAgent campaign.

As you can see from some of my pictures and my vlogs at the bottom of my page, my hair is quite curly (on the border of frizzy, to my dismay). I only needed a small amount of this product to have my hair become more manageable to style and it did indeed leave it lustrous looking as well!

Nature's Source Review & Giveaway

Nature's Source is one of the latest in green products, made by SC Johnson Company.

All of the products are made from plant based cleaning agents and purified water. A few of the products also have other ingredients but they are all safe for the environment.

It has a fresh clean scent, and the ability to clean grime and soap scum.

When I first tried it, I was surprised by the scent. It really smells good and does not give me a headache like some cleaners do when I clean. I like that I can clean everywhere around my home, and not worry about toxic chemicals coming in contact with my family.

Others might worry that because it's made from natural ingredients that it doesn't have the same cleaning power as cleaners made with bleach and chemicals. But I found that it cleaned just as well as any other cleaner I've ever used.

However, while it cleans well, it doesn’t disinfect. That can sometimes be important to me, so I'll just make sure that I have an alternate cleaner when I'm concerned about that.

The idea of green cleaning for my home is important to me. Along with the All-Purpose Cleaner shown above, Nature's Source also has a Glass & Surface Cleaner, Bathroom Cleaner and Toilet Bowl Cleaner.

Overall, I am pretty happy with the products I received to try from SC Johnson and BzzAgent.

Sensor Scent - Glade Sense & Spray

I like it when the rooms in my home smell good.

Glade Sense & Spray is one of the newer products put on the market by Glade to make your home welcoming. It is a mini fragrant spray system run on AA battery power. The contents of the starter unit contains one smart spray unit, one refill canister and 2 AA batteries. This will on average cost about $9.99. The refills cost average is about $3.49 a piece.

Th cost sounds a little expensive a first, but when you hear how the system works, it isn't quite as outrageous. The Sense & Spray works on a motion sensor, so until someone walks in front, activating it, the spray is conserved. The lasting scent from the spray is a definite plus as well. Glade is confident in their ability to provide enough fragrance from this unit, that the spray will only be activated through the sensor motion once every thirty minutes. If you personally feel the scent needs to be renewed more frequently, you can press the button and activate it yourself.

My unit came with a Clean Linen spray refill, which smells terrific. I have it in my laundry room at the moment which really can take on a not so pleasant smell at times. It's nice that when I walk in, and my presence is "sensed" a fragrant spray is greeting me, rather than dirty socks! The kit also comes in an Apple Cinnamon scent, and the refills include both of those scent options as well as Country Garden and Powder Fresh.

It is a mini size unit, so intend on using it in a small room. I find it great for my laundry room. I suspect it would be useful in a small bathroom as well. One caution, make sure that it is located high enough so that when it is activated it won't be sprayed in ones eyes, but low enough that the sensor can actually be activated. All in all, this is a great product, especially since it can be used in an area where an electrical outlet is not accessible. I give it a thumbs up!

It's here, It came!

If you look further down my blog page you will see a post I made a bit ago regarding Glade Flameless Wisp Candles. I was provided the opportunity to review them by BzzAgent. Well the latest and the greatest new product arrived at my door today. The Harmony One Logitech Remote. You have NO IDEA how thrilled I am with this. I mean really you don't. Because I am so embarrassed anytime we have people in, and their kids want to watch a dvd, and I have to say "I'm sorry, I don't know how to work our dvd player.". I mean really what is that all about? But it's true. We have waaaay too many remotes, and honestly, I don't even know which one belongs to which device.
In any case, I will have Hubby set it all up tomorrow morning while I go grocery shopping and then I'll give you the bzz about this (what I'm sure is going to be) great product.

Glade Flameless Candle

Have you ever burnt or discolored something because of a candle flame? I have, our old bedroom set, I put a candle on the headboard of our bed. There was a shelf above that, but I felt I had enough clearance for the flame. I apparently did not, because there was a nice burn mark on it, when I blew the candle out. I'm just lucky I didn't start a fire.

You could bring it to work, or travel with it. I'm sure you can think of other ideas that I haven't yet.
