Tumaro's Gourmet Tortillas

Tumaro’s Gourmet Tortillas are America's best selling flavored tortillas!

Tumaro’s is committed to providing healthful, nutritional, and flavorful tortilla products for people who care about there health and well being. They believe in using the finest ingredients possible and they are committed to using Certified Organic Pesticide Free flour for their line of gourmet healthy tortillas.  In addition, they believe in making our products low in fat, trans fat and cholesterol free.

Tumaro’s Gourmet Healthy Flour Tortillas is the only flour tortilla that carries the American Heart Association Seal of Approval. Tumaro's Tortillas come in 8" and 10” sizes.   They are low fat, contain 87-89% organic ingredients, contain 0 grams of trans fats. Their healthy flour tortillas and wraps are available in 7 varieties of 8” and 5 Varieties of 10”.

With flavors ranging from Award Winning Honey Wheat, Pesto & Garlic to Chipotle Chile, these tortillas and wraps add zest, flavor, convenience and good health to any meal.

We were able to try three of the varieties in our home.  The 8" Multi Grain (Vegetarian), the 10" Black Bean (Vegetarian) and another variety that wasn't labeled, but from the taste and appearance I imagine it was either the Whole Wheat or Honey Wheat variety.

Generally we use tortillas to make soft tacos, or  sandwich wraps, but I had some pre-cooked chicken on hand, and decided that we would try these to make quesadillas instead.

The Black Bean Wrap threw me for a bit of a loop when I first saw it.  I have never purchased flavored wraps before, as I was hesitant that the flavors would be a bit overwhelming for our family.  They were quite moist, and were sticking together a bit when I tried removing one from the package.  I was able to separate them without ripping it, and it was the only flavor out of the three that did that.  Both the wrap varieties had a good crispness after grilling them.  The 8" Multi Grain variety was has a bit thicker of a texture to it, so was more chewy than the others.

At first taste I was surprised that the Black Bean variety was not as strong flavored as I thought it would be.  Tasting mostly like a regular tortilla with actually just a hint of flavor.  After eating a whole one though, I tasted more of the flavor in an aftertaste (not a bad one), than I did while initially eating.  So all in all I probably would choose to purchase a flavored variety of tortilla again, as the taste debunked my initial perception of them.

Tumaro's Tortillas website has some neat recipes to use the wraps as dessert too.

There truly is no limit to what you can create with their tortillas and wraps.

Thanks for the information on the tortillas. I went on their website and reviewed their nutritional value.
Not sure if you ever tried the La Tortilla Factory Low Carb Tortillas. They are similar in nutrional value although their large size only has 80 calories and not 100 calories as compared to Tumaro's tortillas. I was wondering if you had any thoughts on the taste between the 2 brands. Any information would be appreciated.

We use at least 2 of the La Tortilla wraps a day therefore would be interested in learning more about the Tumaro brand.

Thanks again for the great review and look forward to hearing more.

Thank you for the review. I make quesadillas when we get stuck in a rut for lunch.
