Songs from the Heart ♥ Celtic Woman

I was recently sent the Songs from the Heart CD by Celtic Woman from EMI Music as part of the Music Moms team, for review.

Rather than just one woman Celtic Woman is actually made up of 5 women; 4 vocalists (Lisa Kelly, Chloe Agnew, Lynn Hilary and Alex Sharpe) and a violinist (Mairead Nesbitt).  The group has sold more than 3.8 million records in the U.S. and has had 7 sold out US Tours!

This particular CD has a good variety of heart warming and inspirational songs, including original songs, contemporary hits and Irish classics.

I was especially intrigued by the song O, America! and wanted to share it with you, so I headed over to Celtic Woman's You Tube Channel.

I liked the Celtic background music on the tracks, although I found many of them didn't have quite the Celtic sound you would anticipate when purchasing like this.  I would actually classify it more as an easy listening CD than a Celtic one.

I do think those that enjoy women vocalists, a choral type sound and/or easy listening would enjoy this CD as part of their collection of music.

Songs from the Heart by Celtic Woman is in stores now from EMI Music/Manhattan Records, or it is available online at Amazon.com.

If you took the time to watch the O, America! video, or went to the You Tube channel to watch some of the other videos, what did you think?  What do you generally listen to in the way of music?

I will listen to almost anything other than rap, and I think Celtic Woman has a beautiful sound. I have seen them perform on various television programs and always enjoy their music.
