Tales from a Travelling Mum
Prior to marriage, with no major responsibilities, I threw caution to the wind and did a lot of traveling. I hit Europe, Africa and Asia. It was a phenomenal time in my life.
When Hubby and I got married, the traveling continued, just not to as many exotic places, due to time and cost.
And then came Amber, and while others tried to convince us our traveling days were over, I would smile and shake my head.
That's why when I heard about Alice Griffin's book Tales from a Travelling Mum, I was instantly intrigued, and wanted to read it. Oh, and if you think I can't spell....Alice is from the U.K..
In the book, Alice recounts the tales of her family unit which include her husband Scott and daughter Isabella and Milla (their dog), and how they traversed across Europe, in a 14' x 7' camper... with a baby... and a dog.
In between her stories, she provides exceptional traveling tips for people who would like to travel with their young children, but aren't sure where to start, what to bring, or how to react!
We took one vacation to San Francisco where we did not take Amber along with us. It did not take me long to realize that for us, that was a mistake we would never again repeat. Our next trip just a month later, we were a bit anxious and hesitant, but we boarded a plane with 10 month old Amber, that would take us to Europe for 3 weeks. And while there were hiccups along the way, I would do it again in a second.
And those are just the kind of experiences that Alice endorses in her books. I think Alice and Scott have a bit more adventure in their blood, then Hubby and I do. But that's the great part about reading, you get to live vicariously through someone else!
If you have small children, and would like to travel (and it doesn't need to be to a foreign country), but really think it would be too much trouble, work, or cost, I urge you to read Tales from a Travelling Mum - when you're done it won't seem nearly as scary as you think!

They do spell funny in the UK but I do love reading their style writing. Sounds like a great book, and good for you to continue doing what you are passionate about
Looks great. I loved traveling with my son when he was little. Although we didn't have any trips to Europe. That would have been lovely. :) Thanks for the review.

Looks like a good book.
I'm not familiar with the book but agree with the idea that families with children should travel. It's a wonderful life experience and helps them learn so much.
