Ultimate Party Meatball Recipe

Even before I received the invitation to be a part of the Mom Central Ultimate Party Meatball Recipe Blog Tour, I was looking for an abundance of meatball recipes.

You see a few weeks ago, I was wanting to make a recipe that required meatballs.  That was the week we were doing our once a month warehouse club run.  I had thought of just running to the grocery store to pick up a package of meatballs, but that would require an extra trip, so I got a warehouse sized bag.  Um...that's a lot of meatballs for three people to eat, LOL!!  Hence the looking for recipes to use meatballs with.

So here is the recipe:

Ultimate Party Meatball Recipe
1 14oz can of Ocean Spray Jellied Cranberry Sauce
1 12oz bottle of Heinz Chili Sauce
1 2lb bag of frozen, pre-cooked, cocktail size meatballs
Combine sauces in a large saucepan.  Cook over medium-low heat stirring until smooth.  Add meatballs.  Cover and cook until meatballs are heated through, stirring occassionally.
You can make them in a slow cooker too:
Place meatballs in a slow cooker. Combine sauces and pour over meatballs. Cover and cook 4 hours on high.
The recipe makes about 30 servings for appetizers.

These yummy appetizers won't stay on the plate long, so be sure you have plenty for whatever shindig you're planning on serving them at.  The last event we had the meatballs at, they were enjoyed by most everyone, and the recipe for the sauce was asked for.  Aww heck, forget the appetizers just go ahead and make a whole meal out of them!

For more recipes, entertaining tips and party enhancements be sure to head over to http://www.ulitmatepartymeatball.com/.  You won't want to miss visiting because they have a sweepstakes on the site, where you can win an ultimate party of your own.  The grand prize is $3,000 in gift cards and 20 others will win a 4qt Rival Crock-Pot to make their meatballs in!  The sweepstakes is open until February 15, 2010.

Thanks for posting the recipe - and the slow cooker alternative, which is really helpful. I've been looking for a good meatball recipe for parties and gatherings, and I'm going to give this one a try this weekend. Thanks!
