Hickory Farms

Hickory Farms has great gift basket ideas. I have often had to buy a gift, not having a clue as to what the person wants or needs. Have you ever had that experience? Yeah, I thought so. During the holiday season we often have to buy gifts for teachers, co-workers, business colleagues, and really know nothing about what they would like or their hobbies. But what better way to show your appreciation for what they have done through the year, than by giving them a consumable gift from Hickory Farms.

A couple of weeks ago, this Hickory Farms Summer Sausage and Cheese gift box full of meat and cheese (oh and those great strawberry candies my Oma used to always have in her candy jar!) landed on my doorstep. I received it as part of a Mom Central blog tour.

We actually had to bring some snacks to a Christmas gathering this past weekend, and I thought this would be perfect. With three types of cheeses, Apple Pie Cheddar (which has a great slightly sweet note to it), Edam, and Sharp Wisconsin, and two sticks of Beef Summer Sausage, I was pretty sure my plate would be a hit at the gathering.

I made up a dinner sized plate to take along, and I only used half of the contents in the box!

These are also great gifts to send to friends and relatives or business colleagues out of state. Just visit Hickory Farms, and you can order gift boxes and baskets online.

Until Dec. 10/09  for each Party Planner Gift Box sold, Hickory Farms will donate $5.00 to Share our Strength, a leading national non-profit organization working to end childhood hunger in America. There's an option to donate $1 during the checkout process on any order. That can make a big difference and help provide 3 meals to a child in need.

You can also find a host of items that Hickory Farms will provide free shipping for military serving away from home, so they too can celebrate and share in the delights of the holidays.

"I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Hickory Farms and received a Hickory Farms gift basket to facilitate my review."

I'm actually ordering one of these for my brother. When he was little, we would always see the kiosk at the mall, and he got so excited and always wanted one...it was cute :) Well, he is all grown up now and across the US. I think he would really appreciate the thought that went behind it and the memories that it will bring back to him.

I received one of these last week. OMG...delicious. A little bit of everything. The Summer Turkey Sausage was so good that I picked up some more tonight when I went out shopping.
