10 Ways To Get Fit After the Holidays
Like most people I have a ton of New Year's Resolutions. Most probably will never come to fruition, however staying fit and healthy are a top priority for me.
Twitter Moms has yet another fabulous contest going on for blogging moms, where they are giving away 5 EA SPORTS Active™ Personal Trainers for the Wii. Share 10 ways your planning to get fit after the holidays on your blog and you could win too!
So here are my 10 ways to help get and stay fit after the holidays.
1. Jumping - Literally. If I had one of those mini trampolines well that would be perfect. OK, I could jump on the bed, that would be fun, Amber would love that I would allow her to do that without yelling at her! Maybe I should just stick to a jump rope though.
2. Dance - I'll spend some time playing Dance, Dance Revolution with Amber. If I don't sprain an ankle while grooving, I might burn some calories.
3. Bake Bread - Whole wheat bread that is. I figure I'd be killing two birds with one stone. The whole wheat would be healthier to eat than white, and kneading the dough by hand, well that takes all kinds of major arm strength!
4. Walking - For now with the 20" of snow that was just dumped on us, and the cold winter chill it must be done on the treadmill, but I'm looking forward to spring when 3 laps around Deck 4 on the Disney Magic = 1 mile.
5. Taking the Stairs - I already do this in our condo building as we live on the second floor, but I'm committed to doing this everywhere, rather than taking the elevator.
6. Drink More Water - Need I say more?
7. Get More Sleep - I tend to needlessly waste time during the day, which means I stay up later to get done the things I neglected to do when the sun was out. Hence, I don't get enough sleep and tend to crash and burn every few weeks. This.Needs.To.Stop.
8. Wash My Windows - A great way to clean house, get some exercise, and be able to see clearly what the neighbors are doing. (And if you think this isn't exercise, try washing a 12 foot window when you're under 5 feet tall!)
9. Get My 5 Servings of Fruits and Vegetables Each Day - Right now I take supplements to ensure I get them, but I know the real thing is so much better. Bring on the carrots!
and 10. *Hopefully* I will win the Wii EA SPORTS Active Personal Trainer. That would be great way to maintain a healthy heart system. With my Raynaud's this would be a good way to help support my blood flow in a non-medicated way.

I love this post. I recently started walking the stairs in my house AND at work. GREAT workout. I can't do it more than 15 minutes w/o getting either tired or bored, but IT WORKS!!!
And kneading bread and washing windows IS hard work. More than one would think, you are ABSOLUTELY correct.
Another great tip is to each once square of Dark Chocolate for a small treat after a meal. I know you like white chocolate, and I used to HATE dark chocolate, but now I love it. Especially the 70% kind.
Thanks!
:)
