Don't Lose Sight of Your Trip

With the flight information recently received for our Transatlantic Cruise in Spring, I have already started making lists on what kind of things we need to purchase and pack to take along with us.  Since all three of us wear eyeglasses in our family, I thought I’d share a little tip with you on something that we’ve learned over the years in our travels that might buy you some peace of mind.

If you wear prescription glasses and are leaving the country I highly suggest that you carry a copy of your prescription with you.  Better yet, get a back up pair to pack along.  While away, it would be quite a hassle to have to replace them if they became broken or lost, especially if you can’t do without them.

You also cannot predict how much it would cost you in a foreign country to have your eyeglass frames repaired or the price of an entirely new pair if needed.  So you see how much easier it would be to have a current spare pair to take with you.  That also allows you to choose the style and fit you prefer without being under duress!

This is good advice, I actually lost my glasses while travelling and had to pay a lot to get a new one made.

That's really interesting advice. I have never brought spare glasses...but when I am wearing contacts I always bring spares and my glasses! :)

on my honeymoon i lost a contact. a new one in the virgin islands was a fortune so i had to have my parents mail me one fed ex. it cost a lot but not as much as buying down there. now i always carry a spare with me even when we are just camping for a couple nights less than a half hour away.

Great idea for bringing a spare. My husband has horrible vision and our trip would be ruined if he broke his glasses and didn't have a back up pair.
