Green Works Laundry
I admit to not having "tough" laundry loads. Meaning that except for food stains (I do have sloppy eaters in my home), I don't have a lot of outdoors or grease type stains to deal with when I do laundry. Maybe that's why laundry is my favorite household chore! It's always a good thing when I can find a detergent and stain removal products that don't just work and smell good, but are also friendly on the environment.
Clorox's Green Works now has Natural Laundry Detergent and a spray Stain Remover to add to the rest of their household cleaning products. The products are made with plant-based ingredients.
You likely won't have to worry about itchy skin when in contact with your freshly washed clothes, because there are no harsh chemicals used to manufacture Green Works products.
And you don't need harsh chemicals to get your laundry clean and smelling great either - I've done darks, whites, sheets and towels all with the Green Works Natural Laundry Detergent, and all our clothes have come out great. The scented detergent comes in Original and Lavendar varieties.
If by chance you don't like scent on your clothes, you can opt for a free and clear choice, that omits dye and fragrance. Two sizes are available, a 30 load bottle and a 60 load one. The same detergent can be used in HE as well as standard washing machines. I did notice that the instructions on the bottle are for both HE and standard machines, generally you need much less detergent in an HE machine, so I have benn filling to "line 1" on the cap, and so far it hasn't been too little or too much for a full load of laundry.
It's hard to believe that you could get stains out using a plant-based cleaner, but Green Works Natural Stain Remover doesn't disappoint. Chocolate stains came out great, and this product along with the laundry detergent are tested to be color-safe.
The laundry detergent gets two thumbs up for the smell, and the little amount you need in an HE machine to clean a whole load. While we don't have terribly soiled clothing, everything that went into the machine, did come out clean.
I haven't had a lot of chance to use the Natural Stain Remover, so I can't say how it does on say, grass or mud stains, but I can tell you that it got out chocolate stains, and it significantly faded some blood stains that I had already washed and dried before. I'm going to try and do a bit more "scrubbing" with it on those stains and see if I can't get them out completely with this product.
These are definitely products I will consider purchasing again in the future.
