Share Tips for Saving Time & Money
Here is a great holiday contest to participate in. Twittermoms and Staples want moms around the blogosphere to share their Christmas shopping tips! You can find rules and other posts at the contest landing page.
My personal gifting tips start right after the holidays end actually. So many gifts for the next year can be bought when Christmas is over and right through the summer into the next autumn.
- For those who collect ornaments, our mall (and I'm sure yours does too), often has sidewalk sales in July. A lot of the card stores, put out past years holiday ornaments for 50% - 75% off. A lot of them are only dated on the box or on the bottom of the ornament, so wrap them up in a different way and no one would be the wiser!
- If food is on your list for someone, check the expiration date on the fancy cookies, chocolates and baskets, many times they don't expire for a couple of years, if that's the case stock up when they go on clearance in January! Or purchase the holiday disposable containers on sale, and then fill them up with homemade goodies.
- Stocking stuffing and gifts for children are great to buy when the school supplies go on clearance. Kids love having new crayons and markers in their stockings for use at home. Take advantage of Staples deals in fall when shopping for school and pick up extras for Christmas. They have lots of educational workbooks to wrap up too. Post It Notes, paperclips and the like are great for adult stockings.
If you have the finances to be spending the dough on higher priced things, and have people on your list who love gadgets and electronics make sure to check out Staples Holiday Center for some deals! They have a new deal every week, plus free shipping!
Good Luck getting all those presents, wrapped and under the tree, while saving money! I'm following @StaplesTweets on twitter, if you want to get their latest tweets you should too!

I hadn't thought about checking food expirations. Great tip!
You should really look at Alice.com. I won a gift card to them and fell in love. I like the free shipping and online coupons.
Shopping for decorations after Christmas instead of before is also a great way to save money. I remember getting a beautiful pre-lit artificial tree (that we are still using) several years ago at Kmart for 90% off! They practically PAID US to take the tree--lol!
