Exploring the World of Biology

From Mushrooms to Complex Life Forms

The field of biology focuses on living things, from the smallest microscopic protozoa to the largest mammal. In this book you will read and explore the life of plants, insects, spiders and other arachnids, life in water, reptiles, birds, and mammals, highlighting God's amazing creation.

This book is an excellent science course for an upper elementary student.  It can also be used as a supplement for middle school or for high school biology.  The student learns about the biological kingdoms, in easy to understand language.  A question section is included at the end of each chapter to reinforce the concepts learned.
As there are no labs involved, it would not be sufficient for a stand alone course for middle or high school, however for difficult to grasp concepts this book may make it simpler for the student to understand.

I like how it is written from a creation standpoint, and it is done well not in a story book type of way.

The Explore questions at the beginning of each chapter and the Explore More section at its conclusion, engage the student to dig deeper and find out more on their own.

The pictures and illustrations are superb, unfortunately they are all black and white, color at least for some of them would enhance the book a bit more.

I would recommend this title, especially for students who struggle with science, as the text is easy to read.

Exploring the World of Biology by John Husdon Tiner is available at Amazon.com and Christian Book.com.  It is a Master Books title.  If you are interested in looking at some of its content, visit New Leaf Publishing Group and take a peek inside it.

I was provided with a complimentary copy of Exploring the World of Biology from New Leaf Publishing Group for the purpose of this review.
