What we are using this year!

I'm a little late in posting - but this week's Heart of the Matter Meme is the curriculum we are using right now.

So here we go;

For Math right now we are using Math Smarts 7 -- a Canadian workbook that we picked up while visiting family in January. We also picked up the Math Smarts 8 for when we are finished that -- as well as Teaching Textbooks Algebra I to finish off the year.

In Language Arts we are using The Write Stuff Adventure, Sequential Spelling, Painless Grammar and another Canadian Workbook; English Smarts 7 -- We will be starting on a reading unit using the book Frindle next week. We already finished reading Do Hard Things.

In Social Studies, we're using World Studies by BJU. We are also reading through Tim Echols book Real Citizenship.

In Science we are using A Reason for Science Level G.

So far we are very impressed with the World Studies curriculum, and while there is nothing wrong with the science one, we are pretty sure we'll take a different one for next year, it's a little too simple for Genius.

Check out Heart of the Matter for the Meme of the Week...to see what other families are using for their curriculum this year.
