My Ten Tips for Being Fashionable on a Budget

courtesy of artcommentsDo you ever get jealous of some of the people you know, who never seem to wear the same outfit twice, or always have the latest styles hanging on the store rack?  You don't have to have a lot of money to be fashionable.  Twitter Moms has asked the bloggers in their community to share ten tips for being fashionable on a budget, and here are mine.

1.  Dress up some of the solid color clothes with fashion jewelry.  You can pick up pieces on sale, and then mix and match them for a new look every time, with minimum cash outlay.

I Wish I Had Caught That On Video...

If I had a penny for every video we never shot of Amber growing up, I'd be rich.  I think we didn't get our video camera until she was about 8 or 9.  Once we got one, we were lucky if we remembered to bring it along with us.  Seriously we are doing well if we remember to bring our still camera on most occasions.   There are times though, that I really wish we had those cute but embarrassing moments on tape, just so we could have shown them at her wedding!  (Mean aren't I?!)

Rescue the Rainforest By Drinking Orange Juice

Many environmental issues get mentioned heavily around the middle of April each year because of Earth Day.  What I just recently found out is that there is another day dedicated to our planet World Environment Day (WED) on June 5th.

I am not always up on the most recent news or statistics for what goes on that impacts Earth on an environmental scale, but I do know that even though I don't live anywhere near a rainforest, the deforestation of it affects my daily life.

Bikini Kitchen Booty Butter Tanning Lotion

The weather on our Transatlantic cruise was a lot cooler than I had anticipated it would be.

I was planning on using the Bikini Kitchen Booty Butter Tanning Lotion I was sent to review, but it was never warm enough to sit out in the sun for any length of time.

If you haven't heard of this tanning lotion before, let me tell you about it.

Beach Towels Make Great Spring/Summer Gifts

Summer's coming and that likely means that at least one day a week you're breaking out the beach towels.  Whether it's the beach the pool or just your backyard, beach towels get a lot of use over summer.  Even if you don't go in the water (like me, lol!), you probably use one to lay down or sit on.  The reason why they make great gifts is because they come in all kinds of desings and of course because they're useful.

Losing a Few Pounds

After two weeks of eating cruise food pretty much non-stop, proper nutrition and exercise are really on my mind.  I know there are many who take pills or supplements for losing a few pounds, but I like to just watch what I eat and exercise.  I gained 6 pounds on our cruise that I need to work off!  Because of eating things cream, ice cream and more ice cream!  (Drat that Goofy's Galley on Deck 9 that has unlimited ice cream...)

What I need to buy though is some good running shoes to help me get in shape.  I have usually purchased name brand athletic shoes in the past but have never bought New Balance ones before.  There are some TriCity New Balance Coupon Codes on the internet that I could use to help defray the costs of them.  Do any of my readers wear New Balance athletic shoes, and if so do you like them?

Mead OrganizHER & Target Gift Card Giveaway

Being able to take two weeks out of our schedules and laze away on a ship, enjoy gourmet food and exotic ports of call is definitely a luxury, here at home our daily lives are so busy that we're running every which way before we have a chance to sit down and breathe.  If I don't write it down, it's likely not going to get done.

I love my computer and think technology is the bomb but....when it comes to staying organized I'm old school that way.  Hands on with a paper, marker or notebook is my style.  I wouldn't remember to mail checks or take my daughter to Girl Scouts or practices if I didn't have it on a calendar, if I don't go to the store with a grocery list...well lets just say I have a hard time deciding in the store aisles what we're going to eat for dinner that week!

I love Mead.  We use their products in our home for our homeschool record keeping, so when I found out they have a line called Organizher I was intrigued and wanted to see what it could do for the rest of my household planning.  The products can be purchased at one of my favorite places...Target...and are reasonably priced ranging from $3 to $15.
