Welcome to Harmony a Jodi Thomas Book & Giveaway

I've never had a guest post by an author on my blog before and I am very excited to have Jodi Thomas share something with my readers today!

Jodi Thomas's book THE TEXAN'S WAGER (2002) was on the New York Times extended Best Seller's list and her book TO KISS A TEXAN (1999) scored on the USA TODAY Best-selling Books list.  She has won numerous other awards for her writing as well.

Her newest book WELCOME TO HARMONY (2010) will be on the shelves June 1st!

I had a chance to read it already and I really enjoyed it.  I especially liked the characters in the book.  Like Jodi herself; Noah McAllen in particular, a high school guy aspiring to be a rodeo star.  Since I'm rooting for Jet & Cord McCoy in The Amazing Race this season, I have a bit of a soft spot for the rodeo crowd at the moment!

She paints quite a picture of the supposed sleepy town of Harmony, but there's a lot more excitement there than a small town in Texas should have!

But I'll let Jodi tell you more about it:

It’s now three weeks until WELCOME TO HARMONY hits the stands and I’m like a first time mother waiting.  This book, this town and its people mean a great deal to me.  From the very first when I stepped into Harmony I felt like I was coming home.

The book is a collection of people who live in a small town.  It centers on how they interact with one another.  Some develop friendships, some fall in love, one stands beside his friend even when everyone else thinks he’s done something wrong.  WELCOME TO HARMONY is about a group of people, their lives, their fears, and their depth of caring.

I guess if I had to sum it up in one phrase, I’d say this book is about loving.  Not the ‘how are you today’ or ‘hope you’re getting better’ kind of caring, but the ‘what can I do to help’ kind of caring.

One of my favorite characters is a high school boy who is tall, bone thin, and not the best looking kid, but he believes that one of the days he’s going to be famous.  His father went pro on the rodeo circuit and he plans to also.  His undying faith in himself rubs off on others.

Come along with me to Harmony.  I’ll walk you through the town, introduce you to its people and who knows, you might just fall in love with the place and decide to stay a while.

Thanks for reading,

Jodi Thomas

Jodi has written a lot of series that seem to be quite interesting as well as some stand alone novels. I would like to try one of her books.
