Tree Top Apple Cinnamon French Toast

When Amber was in public school and Hubby worked weekdays, mornings were so crazy we rarely had time for a hot breakfast.  Now that we homeschool, and Hubby is home 5 mornings a week, I'm able to make more than just instant oatmeal and toaster pastries if I want.  My family loves French Toast.  I don't make it a lot though because I think it tastes better when I order it in a restaurant!  I tried a recipe last week for Apple Cinnamon French Toast from the Tree Top website, and if I do say so myself, it tasted pretty good.  The fact that there was none left on the breakfast plates when we were done, makes me think my family thought so too!

To make it you need:  3 eggs, 1/2 cup of Tree Top Apple Sauce, 3/4 tsp Cinnamon, 1 Tbsp Butter and 6 Slices of whatever bread you like.

Mix the eggs, cinnamon and applesauce in a shallow bowl with a fork or a whisk.  It will look something like this:

Melt the butter in a skillet, dip each slice of bread on both sides in the egg mixture, place in the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side.

It's an easy recipe, and the apple sauce gives it just a bit of a different taste from regular french toast, but doesn't change the texture of it at all.

From the heart of Washington’s apple country to the Big Apple – Tree Top is celebrating 50 Years of Growing Good.

Tree Top would love you to share your favorite recipes using Tree Top apple sauce, Tree Top apple juice and/or Tree Top apple juice frozen concentrate made from 100% USA apples.  What could be more American than, well you know– Apples… America’s Secret Ingredient!

By entering your recipe using apples you could win a 3-day/2-night trip for 2 to New York City, 10/8/10 – 10/10/10, to attend the Food Network New York City Wine & Food Festival for the opportunity to meet a Food Network Star (subject to availability) and the opportunity for winning recipe to be showcased at the Festival.  The contest ends July 26th, so make sure to get those recipes in soon.

But if you're recipe challenged like me, you may just want to try sticking to already tried and true recipes that you can find on the Tree Top Website!

I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Tree Top and received products necessary to facilitate my candid review. In addition, I received a gift certificate to thank me for taking the time to participate.
