I'm a big advocator of dental health. See, my parents had good dental insurance and we always did the 2x a year checkups, but they weren't sticklers for the brushing 3x a day or the flossing. So I brushed in the mornings and at nights if I wasn't "running late" or "too tired." Then I graduated high school and suddenly found myself without insurance. So it was years before I visited the dentist, because I had better things to do with my money, ya know?! When I got married I was hooked up again with some great dental insurance through my husband's work and went to to the dentist for a cleaning.

Holidays are known as being the most wonderful time of the year, but they can also be mom’s nightmare when it comes to their children’s oral health. From candy canes to ginger bread men, kids all over are enjoying the holidays and using them as an excuse to get their sugar fix.
Dr. Jennifer Salzer, mom of 4, orthodontist and dentist has some great tips for surviving the holiday season while maintaining healthy teeth for your children.
Halloween = candy, candy and more candy. And that’s really just the start of the season, because then comes Christmas and Valentines and Easter…and then we get a break again…until Halloween and the cycle begins again!
When I was a kid I had a friend whose father was a dentist. We knew every year that when we trick-or-treated at her door that we’d get a toothbrush in our bag!
Back in October I enjoyed speaking with Dr. Salzer to find helpful answers to those Halloween candy questions I had. Dr.Salzer has developed some great tips for surviving the holidays while maintaining healthy teeth.
As the race towards the holidays heats up, moms everywhere are dreading the influx of snacks, cookies and sweet treats their children will face throughout the holiday season – but what they may not realize is how bad these foods can be for their children’s teeth. Believe it or not, candy is not the worst snack children can eat.
Oral Health Care Products are offered in young children's forumulas and adult formulas, but rarely seen in a formula designed just for tweens. Until now.
Crest's Pro-Health for Me has a mixture of products for kids age 8+ including, brushes, rinse, flossers and paste.
The Pro-Health for Me line is not dull and boring. The products are not childish at all, which is important when wanting to ingrain oral health, because we all know that kids these days have a mind of their own, and want products that they think are cool.
I have been using the Complete Rinse each night after brushing and flossing and I love it! What I really think makes it a stand out product is that it doesn’t have that sting of alcohol that other rinses use.
I shared in my previous post that I’ve never really used mouth wash or rinse, so this was a good experience for me. My husband does on a regular basis though, and
It's kind of a Crest/Oral Health Care themed day on my blog!
Visiting the dentist twice a year, flossing and brushing teeth are all a regular part of our oral health care regimen around here. And up until just recently I thought that was good enough. I mean really what else can you do?
I haven't ever really struggled with horrible morning breath (I can probably down a large animal after a few cups of coffee however...), so never really have been big on the whole "mouth wash" thing. Little did I know that not all of the rinses were for freshening breath only.
If you're a regular reader of my blog, you know I have a bit of an obsession with oral health care. It started after I got married and I actually got dental insurance. After a few very painful scalings, I knew that I had to take better care of my teeth. I've tried many different brands of toothpastes and flosses, and yet our family keeps going back to Crest, probably because they just keep making great products to keep my family's teeth clean and healthy.
