Like many of yours, our family is a big fan of Disney. Our family vacations have revolved around their parks and the Disney Cruise Line for the last 21 years, starting with our honeymoon. So it was with great excitement when I learned that I get to host a Disney Side @Home Celebration next month! Disney Parks & MomSelect sent me a whole box of goodies to get my party started and I know the moms and kids who come are going to have a great morning.

Not many couples in this day and age can say that they've hit the 50 year mark in marriage. To have parents that model such commitment to each other has been a great resource in my own marriage.
You all know that I am a coffee fiend. Urban dictionary describes the word fiend as: A man who craves a certain substance. Yes, yes that would be me in regards to coffee. Any excuse to have a party featuring coffee and I'm throwing it. Which is what I did last week with some local blogging friends thanks to #DunkinAtHome and their Bakery Series Coffee and a great iced coffee recipe from Hungry Girl. For many of them it was their first week of 'back to school' so that meant they had some free time with the kids gone for the day.
I'm so excited that we've had the opportunity to use our gorgeous back deck for some parties already this year. And we have more to come! We're actually hosting a party for my husband's co-workers in mid-July and I'm not ashamed to say I want to make an impression ;) Finding new recipes that are easy but different is a must. I recently found a new resource for recipes, and quite honestly it was surprising to me, at P&Geveryday. Besides recipes of all kinds, they have ideas for family activities, health & wellbeing, your home & garden and beauty tips. It's kind of like a one-stop site for life in general!
This whole high school graduation season of life has been so busy AND so much fun for us. It was ALL about Amber. She had a great time hanging out with long time and new friends, reminiscing about her school years and eating and doing all the things she liked. Amber's always been fond of Kool-Aid fruit drinks so when I was shopping at Walmart for her graduation open house party, I made sure to pick up the new 96 oz. bottles of Kool-Aid.
You may have noticed that I haven't posted in a couple of days on my blog, and that's because we've been busy with guests and celebrations celebrating our daughter's high school graduation! I can't believe that my baby is finished. We had a grand time pulling out all the stops for her though, and I can not wait to show you all the things we did.
Even though we only recently moved to Texas, Amber is a really social person, and has managed to make quite a few friends. We also had some guests fly in for the event and we as parents invited some of our new friends. It ended up being quite the crowd congregating on our back deck.
Cinco de Mayo celebrates the legendary Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862, in which a Mexican force of 4500 men faced 6000 French soldiers. Long story short, the Mexicans won and so they party.
But the more the merrier, right?! I'm all about celebrating and hosting a party because that equals fun times no matter what the occasion.
I cannot believe that it's only 3 weeks until my baby graduates from high school. I'm seriously behind on the party planning. It's a good thing my parents are coming in a week before the big day, because I'm going to need my mom's help to pull Amber's graduation party off smoothly.
We're busy planning for Amber's high school graduation the weekend of May 16th, and I'm both sad and glad about it! Sad that this means that in fall she'll be going off to college. Glad, of course, that she's going off to college. I have a love hate relationship with the idea. But for now we'll celebrate and stress over the festivties at hand.
She has always loved color, and when Oriental Trading offered us some supplies for her party to review, I suggested the Congrats Grad Party Supplies line, and then to add some extra touches to that. She agreed!
Our daughter's best friend graduated high school over the weekend, and since she is literally like another daughter to us, I wanted to help her mom out with the open house party she had planned.
