With a lot of the recipes I feature on my blog, one wouldn't think that we are very heart conscious, but I promise you we eat most of these dishes and desserts in moderation. Because heart disease runs in my husband's family (both his parents passed due to heart conditions), I really do take measures to change up favorite recipes and make them heart healthy.

September is National Cholesterol Education Month, and high cholesterol can mean increased risk for heart disease. Those that are at risk for either or both, can lower their risk by making simple changes in their lifestyle.
