With a lot of the recipes I feature on my blog, one wouldn't think that we are very heart conscious, but I promise you we eat most of these dishes and desserts in moderation. Because heart disease runs in my husband's family (both his parents passed due to heart conditions), I really do take measures to change up favorite recipes and make them heart healthy.

My husband has been taking Fish Oil pills for years to get that extra source of Omega 3 fatty acids. We've often seen Krill Oil pills on the shelves when purchasing the Fish Oil pills we buy for him, but have never taken the plunge to switch.
As many of you know, February is Heart Health month, where many products and services let us know that it's important for us to take care of our physical hearts. That's an important topic to me, since both of my in-laws succumbed to heart disease. But 'emotional' heart health is just as important, and it's often something that I need to work on by connecting touches within my own home.
I don't know if you're aware of Gary Chapman's "The Five Love Languages," but it is a great insight on the basic five ways that people experience love. It's broken down into; 1. Acts of Service, 2. Quality Time, 3. Gifts, 4. Physical

I'm sharing on behalf of American Heart Association and their Go Red for Women Campaign. Women's heart health is important to me as my dear mother-in-law passed away five years ago from heart disease. February 1st, is the 10th National Wear Red Day, a moment in time when women and their families take action against the #1 killer of women - heart disease. While the movement has succeeded in saving 627,000 lives through awareness and education, the fight is far from over.

September is National Cholesterol Education Month, and high cholesterol can mean increased risk for heart disease. Those that are at risk for either or both, can lower their risk by making simple changes in their lifestyle.
One of those changes is to incorporate corn oil into your meals. Research shows that plant sterols, like the ones in corn oil, can significantly reduce the body's cholesterol absorption. It's also recommended that those at risk select choices that are low in sodium.
We’ve been a little ‘nuts’ around here this past week, and not just because my parents came to visit us. (JOKING MOM, joking!) Actually we’ve been eating snack nuts packed full of nutrition, healthy fats and fiber.

Earlier this month I shared with you about the Ester-C 24/7 Mom Contest. And now I want to share with you a bit more about the actual product.
Ester-C gives you immune system support and provides your body with powerful antioxidant support.
What really interests me about Ester-C though is that it promotes heart and circulatory health since I suffer from Raynaud’s Phenomenon (which is a problem with blood flow, my body doesn’t send enough blood to my hands and feet). I’ve just started taking it, and I’m hoping it helps with that.
