Triple-Strength Omega-3 Fish Oil Softgels to Help Supplement Your Food Choices

We just went grocery shopping today, and as we were checking out I watched what was being scanned across the register.  We had some pretty healthy foods in the cart and others...not so much ;)  I try and purchase wholesome foods, but I know that we are still pretty far from our goal in getting all our essential vitamins and nutrients.

I know that I should have plenty of fruits and vegetables in our weekly meal plans because of their important nutrients.  Late last year when I went for my wellness check, I received a phone call letting me know that my cholesterol levels were creeping toward that 'borderline high' mark.

6 Ways to Help Prevent Heart Disease

One in four American deaths is caused by cardiovascular disease, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This is an extremely alarming statistic for my family since my husband's family seems to have a genetic predisposition to heart disease.

We had a lot of questions for our physicians and practitioners for strategies to help us prevent heart disease and here are some of the tips they gave us.

Campbellā€™s Address Your Heart Recipes and Coupons

With a lot of the recipes I feature on my blog, one wouldn't think that we are very heart conscious, but I promise you we eat most of these dishes and desserts in moderation.  Because heart disease runs in my husband's family (both his parents passed due to heart conditions), I really do take measures to change up favorite recipes and make them heart healthy.

#NIVEAMoments ~ 'Emotional' Heart Health with Skincare

As many of you know, February is Heart Health month, where many products and services let us know that it's important for us to take care of our physical hearts. That's an important topic to me, since both of my in-laws succumbed to heart disease. But 'emotional' heart health is just as important, and it's often something that I need to work on by connecting touches within my own home.

I don't know if you're aware of Gary Chapman's "The Five Love Languages," but it is a great insight on the basic five ways that people experience love. It's broken down into; 1. Acts of Service, 2. Quality Time, 3. Gifts, 4. Physical

Go Red with AHA and Real Women + a Heart Healthy Recipe

I'm sharing on behalf of American Heart Association and their Go Red for Women Campaign. Women's heart health is important to me as my dear mother-in-law passed away five years ago from heart disease. February 1st, is the 10th National Wear Red Day, a moment in time when women and their families take action against the #1 killer of women - heart disease. While the movement has succeeded in saving 627,000 lives through awareness and education, the fight is far from over.

3 Heart-Healthy Recipes for Cholesterol Month

September is National Cholesterol Education Month, and high cholesterol can mean increased risk for heart disease. Those that are at risk for either or both, can lower their risk by making simple changes in their lifestyle.

One of those changes is to incorporate corn oil into your meals. Research shows that plant sterols, like the ones in corn oil, can significantly reduce the body's cholesterol absorption. It's also recommended that those at risk select choices that are low in sodium.

Ester-C: The Better Vitamin C

Earlier this month I shared with you about the Ester-C 24/7 Mom Contest.  And now I want to share with you a bit more about the actual product.

Ester-C gives you immune system support and provides your body with powerful antioxidant support.

What really interests me about Ester-C though is that it promotes heart and circulatory health since I suffer from Raynaud’s Phenomenon (which is a problem with blood flow, my body doesn’t send enough blood to my hands and feet).  I’ve just started taking it, and I’m hoping it helps with that.
