Tres Leches Cherry Float

tres leches cherry float

Okay one more mixology recipe with the Tres Leches vinoleche that I bought.  This one is a Cherry Float far more suitable for adults than the Chocolate Cherry Float I made earlier this month.

Out of the three drinks I made with the Tres Leches liqueur, (Tres Leches Peaches & Cream and Grown Up Mocha Leches Shake), I think this one was my favorite.  Pure sweetness with just that little 'buzz' that gives a mixed drink that 'oomph' you're looking for.

'Grown Up' Mocha Leches Shake

Grown Up Mocha Leches Shake

So now that I opened the bottle of Wineheart Tres Leches Vinoleche that I had purchased for a Girls' Night In, I have been doing some fun 'mixology' with it and other things I already had in my freezer, fridge or pantry.

Today's libation uses the Wineheart Tres Leches, some Café Con Leche Ice Cream (that I used in these Quick and Easy Chocolate Chip Mocha Tarts) and chocolate rice cereal.

Tres Leches Peaches & Cream Drink

I had planned to have a Girls' Night In back before Thanksgiving, but things just didn't work out.  It's such a busy time of the year for everyone, between those who were traveling for the holiday, other events and sick children, I decided to postpone it for another time.  That however left me with a large bottle of Wineheart Tres Leches and a bottle of Peach Schnapps, which I was planning to make drinks with.

Iced Green Tea Crème Drink

This is really different than anything else I've used before.  For those of you who don't know what Matcha is - it's green tea, but not like the kind in a tea bag, or loose leaf as it were.  It's powder that's ground up from the green tea leaves.  Hence it's very Kermit green hue.  This also means you consume the entire leaf providing your body and mind with a maximum concentration of Polyphenols and EGCG.  The difference between Matcha and brewed green tea?  UP TO 137x THE ANTIOXIDANTS!

Quick & Easy Chocolate Cherry Float

The holidays are here and some of you may have already given or received boxes of those Queen Anne Chocolate Covered Cherries.  Now I love the taste of chocolate and cherries...but not Maraschino ones.  I think that's one of those love 'em or hate 'em kind of foods. But when I passed them in the store the other day along with some Diet Cherry Vanilla Crème soda and remembered the yummy Halo Top Chocolate Ice Cream in my freezer, I thought... well I can have my chocolate & cherries...and drink them too!

Low Calorie Sunset Floats

Low Calorie Sunset Floats - Using Yogurt & Fruit instead of Ice Cream and Sunkist TEN & Canada Dry TEN - You have festive drinks without all the calories!

I know a good many of you have already been hit with a deep freeze this year.  While it's not quite so cold in North Texas, it's still pretty nippy and what I wouldn't do to spend a few days in the tropics.  Since that won't be happening any time soon, I whipped up some tropical flavored floats.  Being as the holidays are just around the corner and I'd prefer to watch my calories sooner rather than later, I made these to be low calorie using Sunkist TEN and Canada Dry TEN.  All of the flavor of an ice cream float, but using fruit, yogurt and the #drinkTEN sodas, a lot lower in calories than a traditional one.

Vanilla Nut Protein Shake made with the Nutri Ninja | Ninja Blender Auto-iQ System

I have a confession to make.  The only blender I've ever had in my home has been a cheap $15 one that we actually picked up to do a homeschool science experiment a number of years ago.  I never really felt that I needed one before, until I started making smoothies, iced coffee drinks, shakes and the like.  Only to find out that cheap blenders just don't do well with the cups of ice.  At least not in a short amount of time and not without that smell of thinking that the motor is going to burn up on you.

Skinny Milkshakes - Only 50 Calories!!

Skinny Milkshakes Only 50 Calories

The temperatures have once again skyrocketed here in North Texas.  And we're doing everything we can to cool down.  With a few trips on the horizon next month, I'm trying to not eat too many calories these days as I know I'm going to blow the calorie counts when I'm traveling.

Did you know what the average 8 oz milkshake has in terms of calories?  256.  Yikes!  But I love them.

Celebrate Cinco de Mayo with a Fiesta + an El Monterey Taquito Giveaway

cinco de mayo partyI've got to tell you prior to last year I had NO idea what Cinco de Mayo was even about.  If you are in the same boat let me quickly recap what I learned:

Cinco de Mayo celebrates the legendary Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862, in which a Mexican force of 4500 men faced 6000 French soldiers.  Long story short, the Mexicans won and so they party.

But the more the merrier, right?!  I'm all about celebrating and hosting a party because that equals fun times no matter what the occasion.

Werther's Original® "Baking Bash" ~ Caramel Recipes

I'm still coming to terms with the fact that October is almost over - seriously how did November creep up on us so fast?!  I am glad for the cooler weather though, the HOT Texas summer was a bit more intensive than I had anticipated :)  And with the cooler weather that means that holiday baking is already commencing in my kitchen, and I had the opportunity to make a few things (and share them!) with Werther's Original Baking Caramels.
