Slow Cooker Maple-Dijon Pork Loin Chops

         
I'm part of the eMeals blogger network and as a part of that I receive a subscription from them so that I can try out their service and when I like something I can share it with you!  Last month eMeals launched a new Low Calorie Family Plan.  It has all the benefits of eating under 500 calories with the flavors and tastes of your favorite foods.

Eating slim doesn't have to mean cutting out your favorite foods. With the eMeals Low Calorie plan, you can enjoy a varied meal plan with your favorite dishes, from pizzas and pastas to salads and steaks, all with less than 500 calories per serving.

The great thing about this particular plan is you can choose a Family Menu which has 3-6 servings or a For 2 Menu which provides 1-2 servings.  Both of them work at any grocery store.

Each weekly plan includes: 7 dinner meals and side dishes, simple delicious healthy recipes, organized shopping list, grocery store savings and peace of mind.

So I decided to play with one of the meals that they had featured in their sample menu for the Low Calorie Family Plan, to give you an idea of what you might find!

Slow Cooker Maple-Dijon Pork Loin Chops

Slow Cooker Maple-Dijon Pork Loin Chops

1½ lb pork loin chops, trimmed
¼ cup Dijon mustard
2 tablespoons maple syrup
1 teaspoon dried rosemary
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon pepper

Spray slow cooker crock with cooking spray. Combine mustard, syrup, rosemary, salt and pepper in a small bowl; brush over pork. Cook on low 6 to 8 hours.

Serves 6. Note: If packages of pork loin chops at your local store weigh more than 1½ lb, just trim the pork down and freeze the extra for a stir-fry.

The original recipe uses a pork tenderloin and roasting it in the oven for 25 minutes at 450 degrees.  So you can also do it that way.

One note that the rosemary is quite strong in the recipe.  If you're not a fan of that particular spice, halve the amount or leave it out altogether.
