Horizon Fat-Free Milk Plus DHA Omega-3 is the latest product to join the company's line of organic milk fortified with DHA Omega-3.  The new Fat-Free Milk Plush DHA Omega-3 provides consumers with the same healthy benefits of DHA-fortified milk, but with less fat and calories.  It is the first and only fat-free milk product enhanced with DHA Omega-3 on the market.

DHA Omega-3 is a long-chain omega-3 fatty acid that has been shown in a number of scientific studies to be important for supporting the brain, heart and eyes at every stage of life.  In 2007, Horizon first introduced organic milk fortified with DHA omega-3, including whole milk and reduced fat varieties.

All Horizon Organic Milk Plus DHA Omega-3 products are produced with Martek Biosciences' life'sDHA, a vegetarian and sustainable source of plant-based DHA.  It is also the only source of DHA currently used in U.S. infant formulas and, because it's plant-based, does not alter the flavor of the original milk product.

Horizon Organic Fat-Free Milk Plus DHA Omega-3 is now available in supermarkets and natural food stores nationwide.

We could not find this particular type of Horizon Organic milk at the grocery store we shopped at last week, but my daughter thinks the Horizon Organic 1% Chocolate Milk is great.  I like it because of the proven benefits of DHA, and if she wants a sweet chocolate treat, I'd rather have her drink a glass of milk, then load up on calories and fat with a candy bar.
