Holiday Travel with Little Pim is Fun & Educational - Gift Guide Pick - Giveaway

Coming up with ways to entertain little children on long distance travel can be a challenge.  But it doesn’t have to be.  Julia Pimsleur Levine, daughter of the renowned linguist Dr. Paul Pimsleur and founder of Little Pim, and award-winning foreign language learning series, believes travel time is the perfect opportunity to play games that reinforce kids’ budding foreign language skills, while keeping it fun and silly.

Whether traveling by car, train, or plane, Pimsleur Levine has developed a few suggestions on some tried and true travel games with a new language twist:

*  Play “I Spy” and reward a point for every time a child names an object/color seen out the window in the foreign language they are learning.  Whoever gets the most points gets a treat at the next rest stop or upon arrival.

* Get some snacks and put them on the fold out table (i.e. cheerios, pretzels) and count them in the foreign language.  Have a race to ten with no mistakes in the language.

* Help your child write a letter to a member of the family with some foreign language words included (or pictures your child draws, labeled in French/Spanish/Chinese, etc.).  Make a big production of mailing it when you arrive at your destination.

While they may not appreciate it now, a foreign language is a wonderful gift for parents to give to their children.  Turning on a Little Pim DVD for a few minutes each day, that focuses on a foreign language, will teach a child the basic foundations of another language in no time at all.  With laptops and portable DVD players coming along on car trips - you can pop a Little Pim DVD into the player and start cultivating the love for a new language on the go.

You can visit www.LittlePim.com for information on DVDs, flashcards, CDS, iPhone apps, digital downloads, Little Pim coloring sheets and more.

One lucky winner is going to win a Little Pim DVD # 5, happy, sad, and silly in the language of their choice.

To enter the giveaway visit Little Pim and let me know in the Rafflecopter form below what language you would like if you win.  Please choose carefully because if you also fill in the shipping address entry your prize will be sent to you automatically if you win.
