Back to School is here and that means moms are busier than ever...and what usually gets put on the back burner when that happens? Working out.
10 Minute Solution for the Wii (Activision) provides you with 10 minute cardio workouts for a knock-out body. You can do the workouts with just two remotes, or a remote and a nunchuck or you can also use a Wii Balance Board with it as well.
You may not think a 10 minute Wii workout is going to do much for you, but to put it in perspective the point of a cardio workout is to get your heart rate elevated, and that's just what 10 Minute Solution will do for you. If you purchase a bundle pack that comes with weighted gloves, you'll already be a step ahead.
To explain it as simply as I can 10 Minute Solution contains 5 minute "mini sessions" that you can choose from that allow you to tailor your workout experience. From cardio to strength training.
In the Instant Workout mode, there are 16 workouts to choose from. "Playing" 2 of these a day and you'll be able to get a good workout in just 10 minutes. So you can box on a beach (perfect for those of us in the North during the winter months!) or play Defender, where you have to dodge balls that are being hurled at you. But anyone you choose will get your heart rate up. And if you're already in fantastic shape, there are different difficulties to choose from.
You can also choose to have a custom workout, where you can play on two different difficulty levels, pick a game and immediately begin playing.
In both options you receive "training" when a new game is selected, so you get accustomed to the way the controls work, often this is just as much of a workout, as it takes some getting use to the movement the activities require.
10 Minute Solution also includes the ability to make a fitness plan for yourself. In My Fitness Plan you have a 7 day calendar where you can combine up to 6 workouts and save them to fit your daily schedule. So if you have more time on Tuesdays, because the kids have an after school activity you may want to do a 20 or 25 minute session rather than a 10 minute one.
I've really been enjoying using 10 Minute Solution. The one thing I'd point out is that it isn't just a game. The need to stretch and wear proper footwear is important just as if you were working out with traditional equipment. Yes, I found this out by doing it without stretching and being barefoot the first time I used it. Not a good idea!
